Help the Harders
I don’t really know where to start when writing this but here goes....
Please help me raise some money for Quinton, Rachel & Lara
Rachel has just turned 31. She is the most loving and caring mother, daughter, wife and friend anyone could ever ask for. Just over two years ago Rachel and Quinton suffered the loss of building their family when Rachel had a miscarriage. But this was just the start of constant heartache and this biggest battle of their lives.
Rachel was found to have a growth in her uterus leading to having to have a hysterectomy. Having being told they are unable to go on to build their family tore them apart. After coming to terms with this Rachel then had to go on and have chemo as there were still some nasty levels in her blood and doctors wanted to make sure that the growth had not gotten out of the uterus and anywhere else. Rachel was so strong. They traveled to Melbourne weekly to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where Rachel had Chemotherapy. This took such a big toll on Rachel being so sick from the chemo. Losing her beautiful hair, traveling and being away from Lara but she fought through and never once gave up.
The chemo was unsuccessful.....
Rachel then went on to having immunotherapy.. This time at the Albury Cancer Centre. Which has also been unsuccessful...
It has now been about 6 weeks since Rachel since Rachel had her last treatment and earlier this week ended up in hospital with pain in her back, vomiting and short of breathe. Rachel was anemic on arrival to hospital and had to have blood transfusions. She also had a collapsed lung and cracked rib. Having to have a procedure to help inflate the lung and has been on oxygen since.
On Tuesday we were told what no friend, husband, mother or father ever wants to hear......the cancer has spread and Rachel is now in the biggest battle ever. Chemotherapy won’t help and Rachel is just not strong enough even if it could.
In saying this Rach is in such good spirits and is NOT giving up. In her own words “I’m not going anywhere yet”
So as I sit helpless by her side I have started this fundraiser to help Rachel, Quinton and Lara (3.5years) have the most time together as possible. Without having to worry about the financial impact it may have with Quinton unable to work.
Please dig deep and any $$$ will help no matter how big or small
