Help the Hao Family Rebuild After Ida

My Name is Henness, and my family lost everything on my first floor when Hurricane Ida flooded my home in Edison, NJ.

My house is badly damaged by sewage backed up water starting around 8 pm of September 1st from two toilets and standing showers, as well as flooding from the drainage.

The outside water overflowing from the drainage was more than about 2 feet. Ultimately, the water flooded inside our home was more than about 1 foot high . The water is flooded for 2-3 hours on the first floor of our home of about 1700 sq feet.

The first floor of our home is the primary and the major living space for my family. The first floor includes the master bedroom and a second bedroom, kitchen, breakfast area, family room , living room, formal dinner room and two full bathrooms.

Currently the inside of my house is not in living conditions. As the water heater is also on the first floor, the water heat has been damaged by the flood and not functional. All the drywall, and furniture on our first floor have been badly damaged by the flood. All my main living space has a foul smell due to the back-flow sewage water from the bathroom pipes. The flood also paused down and damaged the wooden fence door to our backyard, which also was flooded by about 2 feet high.

I have one special needs son Max and my husband Bing must watch him constantly.

This situation is very difficult to deal with . I am the only person to work and support my family.

We are devastated by this kind of situation.
