An Urgent Plea for the Haney Family: Fighting Cancer, Totaled Car, and New Fears

​Hello, friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers. We are reaching out today on behalf of the Haney Family—Devin, Savanna, and their three amazing children, Temperance (14), Rockefeller (10), and Eleanor (8). This family of five is facing a storm unlike any other, and they desperately need your help to regain stability, transportation, and, most importantly, peace of mind as they fight for their lives.

​Two Parents, Two Battles

​For years, Devin and Savanna have been the picture of resilience, battling serious health issues while tirelessly working to keep their household running for their children.

• ​Devin’s Fight: Devin has been battling Leukemia since 2018. He recently faced the heavy news that he needed to restart his chemotherapy regimen. The medication is grueling and necessary, but they make working a challenge. Despite this, he continues to maintain a full-time job to support his family.

• ​Savanna’s Fight: Savanna underwent surgery this year to remove her thyroid after finding two cancerous nodules. She has been in a cycle of rigorous monitoring. She works in-between their schedule as a independant delivery driver to help keep their family afloat.

Together, they've been balancing work, doctor appointments, and the daily demands of parenting three active children. They are fighters, but the universe recently dealt them a series of cruel blows that has left them completely stranded.

​The Crisis: Accident, Totaled Car, and a Terrifying Discovery

​

Tragically, Savanna was recently involved in a serious vehicle accident that totaled their only family car. Their sole means of transportation—for work, school, and vital medical appointments—is gone.

​

Savanna spent several difficult days in the hospital recovering. While she is now home, she is unable to return to work for the foreseeable future due to her injuries and no vehicle.

​

Compounding this immediate financial disaster, the CT scan Savanna received after the accident revealed another heartbreaking concern: a new, alarming nodule on her lung.

She is now being urgently referred to a pulmonary specialist, adding another layer of fear and expense to their already overwhelming medical journey.

​Why We Need Your Help Now

The Haney Family is currently without a vehicle to get Devin to work and without Savanna’s income. They have lost their ability to navigate the most crucial aspect of their survival without a vehicle: medical care and a means to their jobs.

They urgently need funds to cover two immediate, life-sustaining goals:

• ​Transportation and Vehicle Down Payment: To secure a reliable, safe used vehicle that can get Devin to work, Savanna to her new lung specialist appointments, and the kids to school activities. We are seeking funds for a significant down payment to lower their monthly costs during this precarious time.

• ​Essential Bills and Lost Wages: To keep a roof over their children’s heads, cover utility bills, and purchase groceries while Savanna recovers. Bills are already quickly add up.

Every day without a vehicle is a struggle to get to work. ​Every appointment missed is a risk they cannot afford to take. Every minute they worry about how to pay the electric bill is a minute stolen from their recovery and their time with their children.
