Help the Guzman Family with Funeral Expenses

On Wednesday night, Boris Guzman-Mendoza (28) was excited to finish his last shift at the restaurant before Christmas. He said he was looking forward to spending time with his family over the holiday.

He was done at 9pm but decided to wait for his friend, Eddie so they could spend time together after work.

In the early hours of Christmas Eve morning, Boris was riding in a vehicle when the driver lost control and collided with a tree. Tragically, Boris and Eddie were ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

This unexpected tragedy has devastated an entire restaurant and community. Both Eddie and Boris and a third man who survived were kitchen members at Firebirds Woodfire Grill in Wichita, KS. I worked with Boris at Firebirds for almost 2 years. He was a hard working, friendly face that I got to know over bagels and tacos between shifts. I will always remember his sense of humor and laugh. To many of us, he was more than a  co-worker; he was a family member. He will be dearly missed.

I am creating this Go Fund Me on behalf of Boris' wife, Karen. As painful as this accident has been for me, I can not imagine the heartbreak and stress his family is going through. In addition to his wife, Boris leaves behind a young son, Steven (5) and his mother, Mary Mendoza.

As the head of the household, Boris' death places tremendous emotional, as well as financial strains on the family. Anything you donate will be sent directly to his wife. All funds will be used to cover the funeral costs and help support his wife and child.

No one imagines getting the phone call that your husband has died, let alone on Christmas Eve.
Please help this young family get through this incredibly challenging time.

Thank you and God Bless.

Boris was born on July 22nd 1992 in El Salvador. He came to the United States when he was just 6 years old. He and his wife Karen were together for over 8 years.

Please donate anything you can.
Even if it's $5, it would mean so much to the family.
