Hello everyone,
As some of you know, Gary and Renae are in the midst of a storm. For those of you who don’t know, I will try to keep this short. This spring while having pneumonia, Gary started to cough up blood. Tests revealed a growth on his bronchial tube just above the lung. After a biopsy, it was discovered to be cancerous. Tests also showed that he had three aneurisms in his abdomen. The surgery for the aneurisms went great and all was well. From that point on, it did not go as smooth as hoped. On the weekend of July 4th, Gary had to be taken to Fargo by ambulance and had several surgeries there. While in Fargo he also had a stroke. He eventually was released and went to a rehab center in Grand Forks. It was a struggle for Gary, though he did improve substantially. Things were going fairly well until insurance would no longer pay for continued therapy in Grand Forks. Thus he had to come home.
While Gary is glad to be home, things are not easy for Renae as she needs to be homemaker, nurse, and still work full time. Gary is fed by a feeding tube and Renae is in charge of all this-the schedule, the food, the meds etc. along with trying to work full-time. Needless to say, her job is suffering. Gary’s employer has been very generous but as of now he no longer gets a paycheck. Gary still has a ways to go before he will be considered eligible to be able to work. This is written by Renae’s brother (Roger Olson) and is not meant to put any pressure on anyone. However, I believe there are many who would like to help, and Gary and Renae can certainly use it. That is why this letter and this GoFundMe account has been started. If you feel so inclined to help, I will say thank you in advance and God Bless.
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Roger
