Hi, this is Tia. I am creating this fundraiser for my sister's family. My brother-n-law Tony and my nephew Chandler both have Polycystic Kidney Disease. He was supposed to go to Indy this month to begin the process for finding a match for a kidney. The possibility of getting a new kidney was like getting new on lease on his life! My nephew one day will face the same. His Nephrologist ordered some labs 9/13/21 as part of his managed care. By Tuesday morning my sister got a call from his Dr. that he had to go straight to the emergency room to be admitted. Tony was in hypercalcemia crisis. He would not have made it by Wednesday morning. Sadly, during his hospital stay it was discovered that he had bone lesions. Today he was admitted to St. Francis hospital with a Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. His bone marrow has 80-90% cancer blast going on inside of them. Instead of fighting 1 potentially fatal disease he now is facing 2. He is no longer eligible for a kidney transplant. He is now fighting for his life with a very aggressive cancer. This is all around just devastating. My brother-n-law has also been caring for his Alzheimer's mother. This guy right here is seriously one of the kindest and most generous human beings on this planet. Anyone who knows just knows he is good and makes this world a better place. Tony underwent Chronic Myeloid Leukemia resulting in a Bone Marrow Transplant in 1992. In 2002 he was dx with PKD, he had a joint ankle replacement in January 2021 and has been off work since then and still not medically released. SSI has denied him twice, even being Stage 4 with his Kidneys. Just unbelievable really. My sister has been the only one working, helping with Tony, his mom and she still has their 17 year old son to care for. This family has taken enough. This has been so heart wrenching to say the least. Tony has still smiled through it all. I am trying to help with as much as I can on their Homefront but my sister needs to go back and forth to Indy (which is 4 hours away). Next week is going to be a critical week for them and the expenses of travel and lodging are already becoming a real issue, since they were already trying to manage on 1 income. Tony has worked every single day 10-12 days for the 21 yrs I have been blessed to call him family. He is the most selfless person I have ever met. He is not only an amazing soul, brother, husband , father and friend, but also one of the hardest working people I have ever met. THIS FAMILY IS IN FOR THE FIGHT OF THEIR LIVES! PLEASE HELP MY SISTER'S FAMILY.
