My name is Aaron, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my parents, James and Sharon Goodnow, who have lived a life of quiet service—giving generously to their family, neighbors, and community with love, humility, and devotion.
Just last month, our family was met with a life-changing crisis.
My father James suffered two strokes one before and one during a surgery to clear a blockage in his carotid artery. The second stroke occurred during the procedure, leaving him without the use of his left arm and leg. He is now in a Skilled Nursing Facility, beginning a long and uncertain road to recovery.
My mother Sharon continues to work to help support their modest life together. Their income comes primarily from Social Security and Sharon’s part-time job.
Right now, they are facing serious financial strain. While insurance covers the first 20 days of James’s care, beginning on day 21, they are responsible for $100 per day and after day 100, the cost jumps to $495 per day.
We are reaching out to our wider community of care: our friends in yoga and the healing arts, those who walk a path of compassion and service, and anyone whose heart is moved to help. Whether your roots are in spiritual practice, social action, or simple human kindness, we believe in the same truth: we are here to uplift one another in times of need.
We are seeking to raise funds to help cover the cost of James’s care, relieve the burden on Sharon, and allow our family to focus on healing not just surviving.
If you are able to give, we are deeply grateful.
If you can share this with others, thank you.
And if you are offering prayers, blessings, or healing intentions—please know we feel them.
With gratitude and love,
Aaron Goodnow and Family
