We are Patrick and Kala Goodnight. We are going through a rough patch this last 6 months to a year. Last year, my mom passed away unexpectedly, and we were left with the fallout. Unfortunately, I was unable to transfer the house over to my name even though I was the heir and the mortgage was supposed to be paid off after she passed. We also dealt with a life insurance issue; she had made a mistake with something, so it lapsed. Earlier this year, we received notification that we would have less than 2 weeks to move out and lose our house of the last 7 years. Due to those circumstances, we had to pay double rent and car payments just to cover deposits and down payments. We have struggled over the last few months to pay our everyday bills. Also, we have a lot of vehicle issues, and I was forced to get another one. The most recent job I took on was to be 40 hrs and OT, but due to lack of work and hours, we have fallen severely behind to cover bills, car, and food. It has been a struggle and stressful time for my family as we are just trying to maintain balance till the beginning of the year when tax season hits and my hours start picking up. Our basic needs are to catch up with the bills, vehicle maintenance, and food for the family, along with the kids' medical stuff.
