I’m at a loss of words writing this…

My Grandma, Mrs. Golovko, and mother Natasha Golovko, lost their home a few days ago 10/18/25 to a housefire. My grandma and grandpa lived in that house for 43 years. The house ment so much to my family and so many memories words can’t even explain. My mother and I were raised in that house all of our childhood items were in that house that we cherished so much. My 2 sons would be there all the time, and unfortunately most of their stuff was there also.

My grandpa, Alex (known to many in the Pensacola community as Señor Golovko) passed away two years ago, and despite my mother moving in to help take care of my grandma… They have been struggling since my grandpa passed away to keep the bills paid, and keep the house afloat during these hard economic times. They have been without a vehicle for almost a year, and were slowly trying to repair their older vehicle but now that got burnt down too.

Unfortunately, insurance to the house got canceled shortly after my grandfather’s passing due to my mother not knowing it was not escrowed in to the monthly mortgage payment. She has been trying to get insurance since it got canceled, but due to the older house having aluminum wiring and needing to be replaced, most providers were not willing to insure the home; or if they were willing it was to expensive for them to afford with just monthly bills and healthcare expenses adding up. Unfortunately we weren’t able to afford the thousands of dollars needed to rewire the home. Their bank mandated structural insurance, but we’re not sure what that is going to cover, and there’ll likely be nothing left over with the home having had two mortgages on it.

As a 23-year-old father of two little boys, I’m doing all I can make ends meet for my boys and help out my mom and grandma… But it’s hard in these times we’re in. My mother and grandma are currently staying with me and my family in a small 2 bedroom apartment with some of us having to sleep on the floor.

We humbly turn to our friends and the community for help. Absolutely anything is appreciated, and every dime will go towards rebuilding or getting another place for my grandma and mom to live. Prayers and sharing are of course also very much appreciated, and any suggestions for charities or organizations to reach out to because we don’t even know where to start.
