The Story:
Hi Georgetown! If you’ve been on campus at GHS, you might know me as "The Golf Cart Guy." I’m Mike Grant, the Safety Monitor at Georgetown High School.

I’ve spent the first week of my summer vacation in our school greenhouse, and I’ve fallen in love with the potential of this space. I’ve been cleaning out debris, organizing supplies, and getting our cooling and ventilation systems back up and running.

Historically, our Ag program has been unable to effectively use the greenhouse until the Spring because the equipment wasn't working. This means our students have been missing out on the best growing season to have plants ready for the community. I’m determined to change that. I’ve managed to get the manual systems running, but our climate control computer needs a new circuit board to truly automate the environment.

My goal is to have this greenhouse fully operational by December so our students can start germinating and planting early, maximizing their learning potential and the yield of our program.

How You Can Help:
I am looking for community support to rebuild our irrigation systems and get our facility back to its full potential. You can help in two ways: by donating through this GoFundMe, or by donating physical items directly to the Ag department.

Our Wish List:
For those who want to pick up items directly, I’ve included the Lowe's Item Numbers below to make them easy to find in the garden center.

The Big Fix: A replacement circuit board for our environmental control system. $155.00

Maintenance: 2 Pressure Washers (One for the Greenhouse, one for the Ag Barn).

Irrigation (Raindrip System):

5 Packs of Full-Circle Micro Sprays (Lowe’s #1500135)

2 rolls of 1/4" Distribution Tubing (Lowe’s #208025)

1 roll of 1/2" Supply Tubing (Lowe’s #8877296)

50 count of 1/2" to 1/4" Barbed Tees

50 Stake/Riser Holders, and 1 Hole Punch Tool.

Maintenance & Support:

100' Heavy-Duty Hose (Lowe’s #33180)

Adjustable Spray Nozzle (Lowe’s #417741)

Tomato Cages (Lowe’s #615020)

Garden Twine (Lowe’s #138870)

Soil Moisture Meter (Lowe’s #757859)

Neem Oil (Lowe’s #5019722)

Soil & Planting: Premium Potting Soil (by the pallet!), 5-Gallon Buckets (Lowe’s #50640), and bulk nursery pots (all sizes).

Seeds: Vegetable and flower seed assortments for our December start.

Why This Matters:
This isn't just about plants; it's about the students. Giving them a functioning, modern greenhouse allows them to learn hands-on agriculture, responsibility, and the science behind sustainable growing.

Any funds raised will go directly to purchasing these parts. Funds not spent will be held in reserve for future needs. If you have any of these items sitting in your garage or shed that you’d be willing to donate, please reach out to me!

If you have items to donate or any questions, use the "Contact" button to send me a message.

Thank you for being such a supportive community. Go Eagles!
