Help The Goldsberry's fight Covid

December 10th my father-in-law, Jerry Goldsberry was taken to urgent care due to some shortness of breath and coughing. From there he was taken by ambulance to the hospital due to a low pulse-ox. After some tests, chest x-rays and a Covid test, he was diagnosed with double Pneumonia and Covid. That's when his fight started. At the time Karen, my mother-in-law was also tested and found out she was positive for Covid also. Shortly after Jerry was transferred to Deaconess Gateway where there is a Pulmonologist Specialist and Covid unit.  So we knew he would be in good hands. Jerry became critical. He was placed in ICU. His pulse ox then started dropping and Oxygen was bumped to levels between 50-75 liters at 80-100%. Each day was touch and go. By Tuesday, December 15th he was placed on a ventilator. Things started taking a turn for the worse. Everyday was different hour to hour for Karen and our family. We didn't know what to expect. Christmas day the nurse called Karen wanting the family to come in. Things were not good. Karen was asked how she wanted the doctors to save her husband if his lungs shut down. The hardest decision a person should never have to make. Right now Jerry is still with us from many thoughts and prayers. We continue to pray for him to improve against the doctors odds thinking he won't come home. This GoFundMe is to help Karen and Jerry get through this with a little financial help. Jerry is unable to work obviously and Karen is retired. If Jerry makes it through this, the doctors say he will have a good year of therapy and rehabilitation to get close to being back to normal and with that he will not be able to work. If Jerry doesn't come home, Karen will still need some help. We, their family are doing what we can to help them get through this. So please even if it's just $1.00 or any amount you can will help this special couple during this time of need. Please pray Jerry makes a full recovery and beats the odds and Karen continues to have the strength getting through each day unable to see, talk and touch her husband. During this Karen has made a full recovery from her Covid. #Jerry'sFight
