Help the Goehring family beat cancer!

Hello, my name is Dustin. I created this gofund me for my good friend Jessica and her family.

In January 2021 I received a text from my best friend Jeremy. He said that his wife, Jessica, was in the hospital for kidney issues, probably just kidney stones. Unfortunately it was something major. Jessica had a large mass on her kidneys and it was bleeding. She received surgery asap to remove the troubled kidney but after a meeting with a specialist she was left in a web of confusion with the terms clear cell renal cell carcinoma, Stage 3, Grade 4. After seeing many specialists she was scheduled for a biopsy to see if the cancer was gone. On her birthday we all celebrated her 40th birthday with the results of "No Malignancy!" Later that year during one of her follow scans the Goehring family received some bad news. The cancer was Stage 4 and had spread. Now in 2022 Jessica is receiving immunotherapy treatment and refusing to let this horrible disease take over her life.

My goal is to raise $20k for the Goehring family. Cancer is a terrible disease that has probably impacted you one way or another. With your help we will help give the Goehring family the resources and strength to fight the cancer.

This is Jessica's story:

Imagine for a minute, if you will, being young, married, and having two small children.
Imagine going to bed after a completely routine day and normal night.
Imagine drifting off to sleep with a smile on your face, knowing your loved ones are right beside you.
Imagine waking up in the morning to a sudden pain so intense that you immediately know something is wrong.
Imagine hearing those happy little voices just down the stairs as breakfast is being made.
Imagine looksd ing at your partner and saying, “somethings wrong not right.”
Imagine the concern and panic on their face.
Now imagine, if you will, sitting in your doctors office. Waiting. Waiting for them to come in and examine you. Diagnose you.
Imagine your doctor calming you down with the few different diagnoses they have in mind.
Imagine leaving the office feeling a bit relieved. It’s much better than you thought.
Imagine once more, if you will, arriving at the emergency room later that evening. Thoughts and panic overcoming you.
Imagine telling your whole story again to the er nurse as she takes down detailed notes. Careful not to leave anything out.
Imagine the er doctor coming in and being very confident that it’s kidney stones.
Thank god! This is going to suck. But I can deal with kidney stones!
Imagine you and your partner laughing and making jokes as you wait for the dr to come back with your ct results.
Imagine that same er doctor coming back into your room with tears in his eyes. His grief and remorse all over his face.
Imagine that feeling of your stomach sinking. Your heart dropping. The absolute fear painted on your face. This is going to be bad.
Imagine being told you have a large mass on your kidney. And that mass is bleeding.
Imagine the tears that instantly sting your eyes and warm your cheeks.
Imagine the pure terror of the unknown.
Imagine once last time, if you will, a whirlwind of events. Being admitted to the hospital on a Friday night. Meeting with an urologist on Saturday morning, who uses terms like malignant and full radical nephrectomy.
Imagine having a surgery where your whole kidney is removed that very same Saturday.
Imagine now, almost two weeks later, yourself at an oncologist appointment. You look around and you’re the youngest face there.
Imagine your oncologist saying things like clear cell renal cell carcinoma, Stage 3, Grade 4.
Imagine hearing those words but not being able to process them.
Imagine being in a dream.
Imagine what is to come. The emotional roller coaster of ups and downs. Life. Death. The positivity and the negativity. The hope. The strength. The fear. The faith.

No one can ever in their life begin to imagine these things. But maybe you can begin to understand them a little better when you imagine yourself in those shoes.

Jessica is a loving mother to two beautiful daughters, Isla and Leia. Let's help her get through this so she can worry about things that truly matter, like watching her girls graduate highschool. Thank you for your support!
