My name is Laura Goates. I am a 46 year old married mother of 3. On March 7th 2024 at the age of 44 I delivered our son via c section and was also diagnosed with stage lllc Metastatic HGSC ovarian cancer. I have had 3 surgeries, 12 infusion chemotherapy treatments as well as an oral chemotherapy following my 6th chemotherapy infusion for 4 months and unfortunately my Cancer returned in my left cervical lymph nodes which led to discontinuing use of the oral chemotherapy/parp inhibitior and starting another 6 rounds of a new chemotherapy treatment Plan. I completed my 12th chemotherapy infusion on Thursday August 7th 2025.

Unfortunately we are no stranger's to Cancer and what destruction it causes to Families. My Mother was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the age of 44 and passed away in 2008 at the age of 47. Our Baby Sister was diagnosed with Stage 111 Breast Cancer in 2016 at the young age of 33 and unfortunately it metastasized during her treatment and eventually spread to her brain. She passed away after a hard fought battle 16 months after diagnosis at the age of 34 leaving behind 2 young children. In 2022 Our oldest Sister was diagnosed with Pacreatic Cancer. She was 44 at the time. She fought so hard she NEVER gave up, and unfortunately we lost her in 2024 at the age of 47 leaving behind a Husband, 3 boys and 2 grandchildren.

We were all tested after our Mother passed away and unfortunately all of our BRCA tests resulted positive. Which makes treatment more difficult. For now I am under surveillance for recurrence. We are ALWAYS praying for a miracle as our family has endured so much heartache already. I created this fundraiser to help with all of the medical costs we have incured and will continue to incur. Our baby boy is happy, healthy and thriving. He is truly a miracle baby and loves and adores his 2 big sisters. Our oldest daughter is 25 and currently working her way to Med school while our 15 year old daughter is currently working to complete her high school education.
