Help the Gill Family After Tragic House Fire in Taradale

Hello, My name is Karanpaul Singh. I am a family friend of the family affected by the fire in the early hours of June 26, a heartbreaking fire tore through a home in Taradale, NE Calgary. Despite the firefighters' quick response, Sunny Gill and his sweet 9 year old daughter Hargun tragically lost their lives.

Sunny was a kind, hardworking father. His daughter Hargun was full of light. She loved school, music, and dancing, and her energy brought joy to everyone around her. She had just finished her last day of school. She was looking forward to her summer break. Hargun was young but determined she told her mother that she wanted to be a physiotherapist. Unfortunately here dreams were cut short.

Sukhi, and their 17-year-old son Rohanpreet, managed to escape through a bedroom window. They were rescued from the roof and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The family lost everything. Their loved ones, their home, and all of their belongings.

We’re raising funds to help them with:

Recovery support for Sukhi and Rohan

Emergency housing and clothing

Counseling and emotional support

Rebuilding their lives from scratch

This has shaken the whole community. Friends, neighbours, and even strangers have come forward offering support, but the road ahead is long and overwhelming. We hope this fundraiser can ease even a small part of the burden.
