Hello Family, Friends & Kind Strangers,
On March 6, 2025, a fire caused by a faulty e-bike battery charger destroyed our home, leaving us with nothing but the clothes on our backs and our dog, Churro. We’re now living in temporary Airbnb rentals, struggling to afford a permanent home amid high living costs. To make matters worse, my husband, who has chronic pain from a 1989 surfing accident and previous spinal fusions, is scheduled for another cervical fusion surgery on April 14, 2025. The loss of his therapeutic bed, essential for his recovery, has added to our hardship. We urgently need help to secure stable housing, replace his bed, and cover moving and rebuilding costs. Every donation brings us closer to stability and ensures my husband can recover safely.
While we are grateful that we are safe & have each other. We know things are replaceable but our loved ones are not. We will always have our memories and trying hard to accept what has happened to us in such a quick amount of time is a temporary situation, however the trauma we have endured is still haunting us with anxiety, nightmares and disbelief. We are trying hard to accept we have lost everything and now we are required to find a new home, new belongings and new memories due to this tragic event.
