Help the Gholani family survive in Afghanistan
Hi,
The people in this picture are four of the five members of the Gholani family in Afghanistan. The mother, Khatima, is the sister of a friend of mine; the father, Juma, is missing from the picture. Their children are now 10, 12, and 14 . They have fled their home after being forced out by the Taliban, and are without money, and are living with friends in Ghazni Jagori, once the most progressive part of Afghanistan. The sister living here, Habiba, who has children herself, whose aunt and cousins these are, is a refugee with few resources,. She believes it will be possible to transfer the funds to them through the bank account of a friend there. The situation is changing so rapidly in the country that there is no guarantee that it will be possible to get the funds to them by the time any are collected, so if it is not possible to transfer the money to them, I will give you the option of returning it to you or donating it to the International Rescue Committee. I realize that this is not a strong sell, but, I have started this GoFundMe, because it matters to my friends and because, as a child of refugees myself, it matters to me that I not turn my back when I hear of people in trouble in war zones if I can help them. Who saves a life saves the world.
