Help the Ghabayen family evacuate Gaza

In the wake of unspeakable tragedy, the bond of our family has become our lifeline. We are united in our quest to preserve what remains of our shattered lives and secure a future free from the horrors of war. We write to you with heavy hearts, seeking your support in evacuating our beloved family from the relentless violence engulfing Gaza.

Our family was a wonderful, close-knit family until the atrocious war pillaged a large part of our hearts. Last October, our family was torn apart by a devastating massacre that claimed the lives of ten cherished members, including seven innocent children. Since then, those who survived have been displaced multiple times, forced to flee their homes in search of safety that remains elusive amidst the ongoing conflict. However, the war has raged on, and they continue living without basic necessities, without a home to return to, or a future to plan for... After 180 days of fear, hunger, cold, and displacement, everything is destroyed. Hope of returning to their original homes lies shattered amidst the ruins, leaving them bereft of a secure future.

Every moment, our fear increases that we will lose what's left of our family. We plead for your help and support to get our family out of Gaza to safety. Our family's children deserve a better future and a new beginning to forget the bitterness they suffered over the last six months and the chance to recover from their psychological traumas of loss and terror. They deserve a chance for life. Leaving Gaza for Egypt requires $5,000 per adult and $2,500 per child, which equals at least $20,000 for a small family consisting of a mother, father, and four children.

Allow us to introduce you to our relatives, each with their own tale of resilience and survival:

Uncle Mustafa's Family: Mustafa, his wife, and their five children—Rafif (15), Buthaina (13), Mayar (10), Ahmad (8), and Mohammed (6)—lost their home in Al-Tuffah neighborhood. They have moved south to Maghazi to Deir al-Balah and now to Rafah.

Aunt Badreen's Family: Badreen, her husband, and their four children—Rahaf (13), Joudi (9), Yamen (12), and Sami (7)—saw their home destroyed in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood. They too have endured harsh conditions, seeking refuge in Nuseirat and Deir al-Balah, currently residing in a small tent shared with three families.

Aunt Maha's Family: Maha, her two daughters—Shahd (18) and Amira (9)—and her two sons—Amir (15) and Diaa (6)—emerged from the rubble of their home in Al-Karama neighborhood. After their father's injury and the loss of their grandmother, they've faced hunger and deprivation in northern Gaza, having moved 16 times with no respite.

Aunt Manal's Family: Manal, her husband, and their five children—Yaaqub (17), Yamen (15), Abdullah (13), Sama (10), and Sameeha (5)—abandoned their newly built home, surrendering their dreams for safety. They've endured dire conditions, moving south to Deir al-Balah, hoping for stability amidst the chaos.

This is only a brief account of the hardships my family is facing - both indescribable and irreducible even amidst the ongoing vicious war that spared no human, tree, or stone. Today, we stand at a crossroads, pleading for your help to provide our family with a chance at a new beginning. The children deserve to know peace and safety, to heal from the traumas they've endured, and to reclaim the life stolen from them by war.

Their only hope is your help to escape a life that carries death at every moment and turn. Your help to leave Gaza despite the unfathomable difficulty of leaving their homeland, their beloved country, and all of their hopes and dreams to start a new life and journey from scratch.

The bulk of the funds will be allocated to pay for their permits and crossing fees across the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah. What is remaining will be allocated to cover their expenses in Egypt until they are settled and we can examine the next steps.

وهذه عائلتنا الكبيرة التي كنت دوما اعتبر نفسي محظوظة لامتلاكي هذه العائلة الرائعة المترابطة.

التي جمعتنا أجمل أوقات حياتنا وكان لكل فرد منهم حياة هانئة وأحلام بسيطة في بيوت يملؤها السكينة والأمان.

التي أن جاءت الحرب اللعينة وحرمتني من نعمتي وحرمتهم من أبسط حقوقهم.

ومنذ بداية الحرب فقدنا ١٠ من المتواجدين في هذه الصورة العائلية للأبد.

فقدنا صورهم وأحلامهم ووجودهم، ٧ منهم أطفال في يوم ١٥/أكتوبر الماضي بمجزرة بشعة وتشردت باقي العائلة كل عائلة في مكان. فقدوا بيوتهم ونزحوا جنوب غزة لعلها تكون منطقة آمنة لأطفالهم وعائلاتهم، لكن الحرب لم تتوقف وليس هناك مكان آمن في غزة بعد الآن.. بعد مضي ١٨٠يوم من الخوف والجوع والبرد والتشرد تدمر كل شي ولم يبقى هناك حتى امل للعودة للوراء وبناء حياة آمنة لعائلتنا في غزة ولا يوجد مستقبل وسط الدمار والظروف المعيشية السيئة ومازالت تتجه للأسوأ من جميع النواحي.

في كل لحظة خوفنا يزيد بأن نفقد ما تبقى من عائلتنا.

نناشدكم لمساعدة عائلتنا بكرمكم للخروج من غزة الى بر الامان واستكمال ما تبقى من حياتهم ان كنتم ترون انهم يستحقون مستقبل افضل وبداية جديدة تنسيهم مرارة ما عانوه خلال الستة اشهر الماضية وليتعافوا من صدماتهم النفسية بالفقد والرعب.. حيث ان الخروج من غزة الى مصر فقط يتطلب ٥الاف دولار لكل فرد بالغ و٢ونصف للطفل ما يعادل ٢٠الف على الاقل لكل عائلة صغيرة مكونة من الام والاب و٤اطفال

فقدو بيتهم في حي التفاح ولم يعد صالحا للسكن ونزحوا جنوباً الى المغراقة ثم دير البلح والان مدينة رفح بخيمة بسيطة في ظروف قاسية.

دمر بيتهم بالكامل في حي الشجاعية للمرة الثانية بعد حرب ٢٠١٤ ونزحوا جنوبا الى النصيرات ثم الى مدينة رفح ثم مدينة دير البلح حاليا في خيمة صغيرة مع ثلاث عائلات ومازالوا يبحثون عن الأمان بعد ٦ مرات من النزوح لأماكن مختلفة.

خرجوا من تحت أنقاض منزلهم في حي الكرامة بعد ان اصيب والدهم وفقدوا جدتهم والان هم في شمال غزة يسكنون في بيت متهالك مدمر ويعانون من الجوع والحرمان بعد ان نزحوا ١٦ مرة في الشمال ولا يوجد أمان

نزحوا جنوبا الى دير البلح وتركو حلمهم وبيتهم الجديد الذي لم يسكنوه بعد ان قضوا حياتهم بالعمل والكد ليبنوه وانتظروا طويلا اليوم الذي يسكنوه ويستقروا بعد الشقاء

هذا مختصر لا يصف شيئا من المعاناة الحقيقية لما تعانيه عائلتي من صعاب لا يمكن وصفها ولا اختصارها حتى في ظل الحرب الشرسة المستمرة التي لم يسلم منها بشر او شجر او حجر

واملهم الوحيد مساعدتكم لينجو من حياة تحمل في طياتها الموت في كل لحظة والخروج من غزة رغم صعوبة ترك بلدهم وأرضهم وكل آمالهم واحلامهم لبدء حياة جديدة من الصفر فقط من اجل اطفالهم لانهم يستحقون حياة كباقي اطفال العالم .
