Pray for the George Family — Life Altered in an Instant

On July 27, 2026 the George family was traveling home from the World Dance Competition in the Meadowlands, New Jersey when a tractor-trailer failed to stop for traffic completely stopped in a work zone on I-80 West in Union County, PA, setting off a seven-vehicle pileup. The trailer struck their Honda Pilot, sending it off the roadway and into the median, where it overturned multiple times before the jackknifed trailer came to rest on top of it — with Jayson, Lynn, and their three children, William (17), Lillian (14), and Declan (9), all trapped inside.

The family is now being treated at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA.

Where they are now:

Lynn suffered a brain bleed and has since been released from the hospital — but she is not home. She is now traveling between four different hospital rooms, trying to be present for every member of her family at once.

Jayson has undergone multiple surgeries and faces a long road ahead. He may remain hospitalized for another 2-3 weeks, with a return to work far beyond that.

Lillian suffered multiple fractures and has undergone surgery on one of them.

William is intubated with a serious spinal cord injury. Doctors are hoping the swelling is temporary, but there is a possibility of serious lasting damage, which remains unknown at this time.

Declan is fighting the hardest battle of all. He has undergone surgery to remove both sides of his skull to relieve pressure on his brain.

All three children are facing life-altering injuries, and they need every prayer we can send their way.

Who they are:

Lynn is the strongest but sweetest soul you will ever meet. She is the Mental Health Director focusing on children and juveniles at Wesley Family Services. She is everyone’s rock — the one who shows up first and never has to be asked twice to help. She’s also the one always behind the camera, capturing every memory because she knows how much they matter. Now, this woman who has spent her life caring for everyone else needs the same love and support she has always given so freely.

Jayson is a pharmacist at Chartwell, UPMC’s specialty pharmacy, where he mixes advanced medications and therapies for patients facing cancer and other chronic, complex conditions. He is a walking encyclopedia who never stops learning, and he enjoys talking to anyone about any subject on any given day. Jayson is a bourbon connoisseur and also a collector of all things bourbon.

Lillian is a competitive dancer with DeStella Dance Centre, Export, PA. In her spare time, she loves doing skincare with her best friend. The family was traveling home from her season finale, Worlds, in Meadowlands, NJ, when the accident happened. There is now uncertainty about whether she will ever be able to dance again — the thing she loves most.

William started working at McDonald’s before he could even drive, wanting to have his own money, be responsible, and save toward his first vehicle. He was in the final step of becoming an Eagle Scout — a milestone he will now miss, which is heartbreaking for him and his family. He has recently found a love for heavy metal bands. Metallica and others.

Declan plays baseball and has found a love for soccer. His favorite soccer player is Messi. He was traveling with his favorite soccer ball at the time and that was lost in the accident.

He also loves Michael Jackson and playing Roblox for all you gamers out there! He is kind-hearted, easy-going, and one of the politest little boys you’ll ever meet.

Why we’re asking for help:

The hospital treating this family is 3.5 hours from their home. Lynn cannot work while she’s living at hospital bedsides. Jayson will be out of work for weeks, possibly longer. Medical bills, travel, lodging, and lost income are going to pile up fast — and this family’s focus needs to be on healing, not on how to pay for it.
