This is my amazing nephew, Owen (next to Owen Wilson in the first photo ). And although this is about him, it’s really for his parents who are doing all the things and sweet Owen can’t help but keep them on their medical emergency toes.

In October he had a spontaneous pneumothorax at school and after EMS care, home, phone consult with me, urgent care, ER, chest tube placement, and ultimate surgery as the CT didn’t do the trick, he was A okay. Tonight he’s in the ER with acute appendicitis and waiting for a surgeon to be available on a Saturday night. Send love and prayers his way. I know he will do great. ❤️‍

Do you know my sister, Jeanine? The person who will always help you out even when her plate is already overflowing and still do it in the most thoughtful, loving way??? Well, tonight I am hoping you can return that favor and send some financial help her way. Of course with our healthcare system, their high deductible has started over in 2026 and they are still working to pay Owen’s previous hospital stay along with other medical bills from previous years and the amount of unnecessary stress this is creating to the situation is so very upsetting.

Many years ago Jeanine set up an unprompted gofundme for me and Jason as we were weighed down by Peyton’s medical bills. It was amazing and beyond helpful. Jeanine will not be a fan of this, I know the awkward feeling of having other people’s love pour down on you and make you feel unworthy, but please, if you can help alleviate their stress just a little, I’d be eternally grateful and I’m guessing Jeanine will somehow create a thousand care packages and send them out over the next year as that’s her thing even when she doesn’t have the time, money, or energy. She just makes love happen and knows how to send it out at the right moment someone needs it. Please consider doing the same for her.
