April 18th my 4-year-old niece, Vayda, was riding her horse as she usually does. The saddle abruptly slid over with her on it, she ended up under the horse, dragged & repeatedly stepped on. She was air lifted to the nearest children’s hospital, from out local ER. April 19th she underwent surgery for the repair of multiple broken bones in her leg, no clean breaks & crushed in some areas. She had a bone graft, multiple plates placed as well as a blood transfusion. She has a cast up to her groin (will require total care) and is unable to place any weight to the extremity for at least 4 weeks (after that she will require a walker). My brother-in-law (Gunnar) is a Retired Combat Veteran & my sister (Jodie) is a Teacher. She has no sick leave & no disability pay due to recent maternity leave. They have 6 children at home & were not prepared for Jodie to be off work with no pay for the next 4 weeks. Anything you can donate will be helpful. Please share this as well. Thank you!!!
