My friends and family, Eliz Garcia, Alvis Colon, and their children, had just moved all of their belongings into their new home and were filled with excitement for the future ahead. What was meant to be a fresh start quickly turned into a heartbreaking loss when a fire broke out in the bedroom.

The fire caused devastating damage, and nearly everything they owned was destroyed by flames, water, and heavy smoke. When they were later allowed to return to the home to see if anything could be salvaged, they were met with a painful reality. Parts of the ceiling were collapsing, making it unsafe to stay. With no other choice, they had to leave behind what was left.

They are a family of six, along with a small puppy, now facing the unimaginable task of starting over from nothing. Thankfully, no one was home when the fire occurred, and everyone is safe and healthy, but the emotional toll of losing everything they worked so hard for is overwhelming.
