On the night of August 21st, at 9:40pm, our family’s life was turned upside down. My husband and father to our children, Carlos Gallegos, and our oldest daughter and a sister, Tatiana Gallegos, were simply driving home from the grocery store in Lake Elsinore with dinner for the family.
In a matter of seconds, everything changed. A man—unlicensed, uninsured, and believed to be under the influence—ran a red light at high speed and crashed into their car. The driver walked away unharmed. But Carlos and Tatiana were rushed to the hospital, leaving our family in shock and heartache.
When we arrived on scene, the car was completely destroyed. That vehicle was not just a car—it was our only form of transportation. Now, while Carlos and Tatiana recover, we are left facing the impossible: no way to get to school, work, doctor’s appointments, or even to buy essentials. This is especially difficult as three of our children, including Tatiana, are visually impaired and heavily rely on us for safe transportation.
Carlos has already been battling serious heart issues that have kept him from working, and now this accident has put even more weight on our shoulders. We are a family doing our best to hold on, but right now we are struggling—physically, emotionally, and financially.
We are asking for help during this devastating time. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward:
Replacing our only car so we can care for our children
Covering ongoing medical expenses
Supporting our family’s basic needs as we try to recover and rebuild
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for reading our story, for your prayers, and for any support you can give. Even the smallest donation can help us take one step closer to stability and healing.
Please share this page to help us spread the word.
With gratitude,
The Gallegos Family
