On Feb 3rd, I witnessed the aftermath of the unnecessarily violent detainment of Cesar Galarza and met Jessica, his wife, at the scene. I saw firsthand the devastation this has had on Jessica and the family.

“Our family is currently facing the unimaginable, as our beloved dad was recently detained by ICE. We are just heartbroken. He left for work one morning, ready to give his all as he always did, and never returned home.

This is the painful reality for our family, as we’ve been torn apart by ICE. He is the sole provider for our family. My mother is a stay-at-home mom, taking care of 4 children and now must figure out how to provide for us.

My dad is a loving, present, and hardworking father who lived every day with the purpose of providing for his children. His absence has left me and my siblings shattered and my mom beyond devastated.

Our dad is a wonderful man. His impact extends far beyond just our home and family. He's deeply involved in our church community, volunteering his time and skills to help those in need. He’s always the first to lend a hand.

As a dad, he's incredibly involved in our lives. He's taught us the importance of education, always encouraging us to pursue our passions and strive for success. More importantly, he's taught us to be kind-hearted individuals with strong moral character, and to always treat others with respect and empathy.

Beyond his commitments to church and family, my dad consistently seeks opportunities to help others. Whether it's assisting a neighbor with yard work or donating to a local charity, he believes in giving back to the community.
