Hello everyone,

My name is Maria Jodel Gaffud, the eldest daughter of Adrian Fernandez Gaffud. My father recently passed on May 4th, 2024 due to a heart attack. It was very sudden for my mother and I, as well as the rest of his family. He was a kind man who was always ready to give a helping hand and his presence was loved by everyone he met. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a husband, and a father to many, although his physical presence is no longer with us, we cherish the moments we had with him and will forever keep him in our hearts. May he rest in peace knowing he was loved by many.

My mother and I, as well as our family, have created this Gofundme in order to raise money for his funeral. My mom and I have always struggled with monthly bills, especially when it comes to our medical bills as we are both dealing with a chronic and terminal illness. My mother was diagnosed with Lung Cancer back in January of 2020, while I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 back in December of 2022. I am a college student working part time at a care home while my mother only works when she can at the Duty Free Shop at SFO. Before his passing, my father worked two part time jobs and was able to help us cover our rent along with some of our other bills, however, with his sudden death, my mother and I are unable to pay the expenses for a funeral that he deserves. We plan on sending him back home to the Philippines so he can rest at home. Anything can help, as long as it's a little bit. We just want to be able to send my dad off properly.
