It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of my dad, Filiberto Gaeta. He passed on February 10th due to a stroke at the age of 66. This was really unexpected and none of us thought this was how we would say goodbye to my dad.

There are no words I can say to describe the person my dad was that will do him justice. My dad was a great and honorable man that wanted to help anyone who needed it. His whole life he always put himself last when it came to making sure everyone else was taken care of.

For our family he was the glue that held us together. As a father he was always there for us. Instilled in us at a young age the hardworking, selflessness, determination, and honorable characteristics that he always lived by. As a husband he always made sure my mom was loved and taken care of.

Those of you who got the opportunity to meet him and really know him know the type of person he was. Hardworking, loving, and extremely selfless. He loved to joke around, loved to spend quality time with his family, and was the person you went to when you need to get something off your chest.

This unexpected death has left us heartbroken and unprepared to give him the final resting place that he deserves.

Con gran pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de mi papá, Filiberto Gaeta. Falleció el 10 de febrero debido a un derrame cerebral a la edad de 66 años. Fue algo realmente inesperado y ninguno de nosotros pensábamos que así sería como nos íbamos a despedir de él.

No hay palabras que puedan describir la persona que era mi papá. Mi padre era un hombre grande y honorable que quería ayudar a quien lo necesitaba. Durante toda su vida, siempre se puso a sí mismo en último lugar al asegurarse de que todos los demás estuvieran bien cuidados.

Para nuestra familia, él fue el pegamento que nos mantuvo unidos. Como padre, siempre estuvo ahí para nosotros. Nos enseñó desde pequeños como trabajar duro, el altruismo, la determinación y las cualidades honorables que siempre se rigieron por él. Como esposo, siempre se aseguraba de que mi madre fuera amada y que nunca le faltara nada.

Quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerlo y realmente lo conocen saben el tipo de persona que era. Trabajador, cariñoso y extremadamente altruista. Le encantaba bromear, pasar tiempo de calidad con su familia y era la persona a la que acudías cuando necesitabas desahogarte.

Esta muerte inesperada nos ha dejado desconsolados y sin la preparación necesaria para darle el descanso final que merece.
