Help for the Frohbieter Family
On June 17th, Brandon Frohbieter was impaled by a pipe while training at the climbing gym. He fractured his sacrum, coccyx, tibial plateau, and burst his T7 vertebrae. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and was taken to intensive care. Two months later, Brandon is still bedridden and in excruciating pain. He has significant difficulties with activities of daily living. He is no longer able to walk unassisted. He has severe rectal spasms and suffers from neuropathic issues with his bowel and bladder.
The last two months for the Frohbieter Family have been extremely difficult emotionally and financially. Brandon's wife of 12 years, is a counselor and has had to greatly limit her working hours to care for Brandon. Their 11 year old son, is often having to stay with other family members due to the level of suffering and difficulty of care for Brandon at home. A software developer at a catastrophe modeling company for the last 6 years, it is not certain when Brandon can to return to work. Brandon is following up frequently with primary care and specialists in the areas of physical therapy, occupational therapy, urology, neurology, orthopedics, trauma after care and mental health. The initial trauma care bill was over a hundred thousand dollars.
We are fundraising to help cover family household and medical expenses for the immediate future. If you know Brandon Frohbieter, you know that he is kind and generous to a fault. Brandon does have a health insurance policy and the Washington State Medical Leave program has provided some limited assistance, but with these soon expiring and Brandon’s injury requiring Lauren’s caregiving, we gratefully ask that you help us raise the funds now while we work toward planning for longer term recovery and care.
Humble Thanks, The Frohbieter Family
