Hi, as volunteers for the Friends of the Library of West St Tammany, a 501(c)(3) all volunteer nonprofit organization, we're excited to launch this fundraiser to support the required move to a new location by July. This incredible organization plays a vital role in our community by promoting literacy, supporting our parish libraries and students, and providing access to a wealth of resources for all ages including books, puzzles, movies and education material.
In the past five years, with over 25,000 volunteer hours, through our monthly book sales and silent auctions we've generated over $63,000 of which nearly every dollar has gone back into the community.
- $39,000 to local libraries for Lee Road branch renovations, Covington branch musical garden, eAudio book purchases, and technology upgrades for Children's librarians.
- $24,000 to parish graduating seniors pursuing 4 year degrees through the Lisbeth Millard scholarship program.
- We also donate books to nursing homes, maternity homes, veteran's groups, and prisons.
Please check out this short video to better understand what we do at Friends of the Library:
Your support is needed to help with relocation costs for boxes and labels for thousands of books, signage for the new location, construction of a new donation bin, the cost of dismantling and reinstalling over 100 shelving units and transportation costs to move all of these items.
Every dollar counts, and together we can help ensure that the Friends of the Library continues to inspire and educate our community. Thank you for your support!
