Help the Fowlers in their care for Ansley!!
For those of you who may not have had the chance to work with her, Chris Fowler is an experienced and successful Medtronic CDS/Diagnostics Sales Rep based in mid-Missouri. She and her husband Ray have a wonderful young family with 3 kids – Leah (4), Noah (13) and Ansley (15). Recently Ansley (pictured below) has struggled with the effects of Scoliosis which had created a spinal curve of about 45 degrees. Therefore she underwent corrective surgery in Columbia on May 18th which involved a spinal fusion from her T3 to L1 vertebrae. The immediate result was an improvement to approximately 11 degrees which was great! However, during the course of her difficult recovery (and despite the family following every post-op care steps), she unfortunately developed a serious wound infection. Because of the incision length, position and hardware that had been placed, this quickly became a critical situation and she underwent another surgery to reopen and debride the site on June 24th. This started another long recovery process including additional procedures and painful methods to get and keep the wound clean including a mechanical vacuum. Ansley is home now, but far from out of the woods. The biggest danger is that if the infection cannot be cleared through continual IV antibiotics and care that yet another surgery may be needed to remove the hardware implanted in her spine.
Chris and Ray are wonderful parents and are working around the clock to support their family and care for Ansley. In fact, Ray recently elected to leave his job in order to provide her with the best care possible while Chris remains working. That has created an unexpected financial need for a very proud and extremely hard working family.
So we're asking for those of us close to the Medtronic family to do all we can to help out the Fowler family. Consider a donation as a show of love and support. Everything you can do goes directly to the family and will absolutely mean the world to them!!
