The Fourth Place began with a mission to create spaces where geeks feel at home, and everyone can play!
Since then, the one-man project by Ian Struckhoff focused on board game night events until the pandemic, and an online membership community since then.
The endpoint has always been the same— To create a physical space where geeks and gamers can hang out, play games, and be part of a community. With vaccines finally rolling out, it's time to create the groundwork for our first location to open once it's safe and responsible to do so.
The Fourth Place will bring together the best of geek culture conventions, board game cafes, comic book shops, and event spaces. It won't be an overwhelming convention that only happens once a year, or a store that's only designed to get you to shop for games or comics. It will be a place that puts the experience and community first, where you can visit any day of the week, for special events, your regular game night, or just to get out.
You can contribute to the first phase of fundraising for our first physical location, which will allow us to do an analytical site selection, produce a business plan to secure greater funding, and make sure our first physical location is a success! Thank you.
