The Foster Festival needs your help and time is of the essence. For eight years we have been contributing to the economic and social wellbeing of our community as a cultural anchor here in St. Catharines and the Niagara region. Now we're asking you, our community, to give back so we can continue to raise spirits and inspire laughter.

The Foster Festival is facing financial difficulties that threaten our survival. Contrary to popular belief, The Foster Festival does not receive provincial or federal arts council funding and this year we have seen a 20% cut in our municipal funding and 60% cut in provincial funding.

Beyond ticket sales, which accounts for 45% of our revenue, we survive on donations, sponsorships (we no longer have a single major sponsor as of 2022), and the fundraising of our small staff of four. We believe that with your support, we can secure the funds needed to keep the theatre doors open. Every contribution makes a difference and will help to keep the laughter going.

We navigated Covid-19 with creativity and innovation weathering an unprecedented time. But the residual effects of those challenging years and the financial difficulties caused by recent government funding cuts have now put the future of our beloved theatre company at risk.
