Help the Fokas Family Recover
Donation protected
On September 1, as Hurricane Ida swept through the northeast, an EF3 tornado tore through the town of Mullica Hill, NJ. The home of our good friends Dave and Kim Fokas took a direct hit from the storm.
Kim, Dave, their 4 month old Arielle, and their dog Buddy took shelter in the basement with seconds to spare, making it safely through. Their property was not so lucky.
Dave and Kim’s house took so much damage it is beyond repair. Both of their cars were completely totaled. And almost all of their possessions are now lost forever.
One such possession was so important to them, multiple local news stations asked to cover their story. Below is one of those news stories.
Dave, a middle school teacher, and Kim, a Mother/Baby RN, have dedicated their lives to helping their communities. Kim was even set to return from maternity leave Monday, September 13, not even two weeks after losing her home to the storm. Now more than ever, they could use some help from those communities in return. Dave and Kim are living day-to-day, trying to piece their lives back together. Currently, they are in search of a rental home so they have someplace of their own to stay. Please consider helping this amazing family get back on their feet. No donation is too small.
