Mila's Medical and Funeral Expenses

Donation protected
Update:
While this GoFundMe was intentionally created to assist the Fizer family with financial support while they happily anticipated the arrival of their baby Mila, life for them has has taken an unfortunate and devastating turn.
On the morning of April 12, baby Mila passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord with her parents nearby. She was given nothing but love and endless care until her transition into heaven. She will always be loved and remembered as their first baby girl.

All funds received will continue to assist the Fizer family with funeral and medical related expenses. Please consider supporting the family as they grieve the loss of their baby girl.

Previous Post:
I created this GoFundMe to help and support Iesha and Anthony Fizer and their baby Mila, who will be welcomed into the world possibly sooner than expected. I wanted to share their story in hopes that we may be able to help relieve some of their financial and emotional burdens during this time. Please share and donate where you can.

During Iesha's initial 20-week anatomy scan, she found out about possible anomalies in baby Mila's heart. After further scans and a fetal echocardiogram, their pediatric cardiologist explained that Mila has multiple congenital heart defects: both an Atrial Septum Defect and Ventricular Septum Defect (two holes in her heart), a slightly smaller aortic valve, and a malaligned atrial septum causing the left side of her heart to be smaller. Once she is born, her pediatric cardiologists will perform an echo to determine if immediate open-heart surgery is required to remedy the defects or if a short waiting period before surgery is best to allow Mila's tiny organs to mature fully to avoid further complications associated with a heart bypass. Regardless of the outcome, the coming months will continue to impact her health in other ways as well as Iesha and Anthony's emotional and mental stability. There is a high possibility for her to be prescribed medications to assist her lungs from retaining fluid as well, which is caused by ASD/VSD.

While the coming weeks and months are full of uncertainties, her family will do everything they can to ensure that Mila is a happy baby who outlives her heart defects and overcomes the awaiting challenges.

Any funds collected will go towards Mila's out-of-pocket costs for an open-heart surgery, follow-up visits, post-surgical medications, and an extended stay in the NICU for recovery.

Please consider supporting the Fizer family in any way you can.❤️

From Iesha and Anthony:
We ask for continued thoughts and prayers during the bumpy road ahead. Thank you to all who have thought about our family and most importantly baby Mila and for all of the prayer, love, and support during this journey. It truly takes a village and we are blessed to have such amazing family and friends who have supported us during this time. Iesha is currently in the hospital and we are patiently waiting to welcome baby Mila into the world.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
