Help the Feline Cafe Care for Rescue Cats
Donation protected
Dear community members,
The Feline Cafe's business philosophy is to create positive change on the planet, to benefit its people and animals.
The café provides a full-time foster home, food and supplies for foster cats until they find their fur-ever home. It's ethical mission is to provide a space to foster cats from a local rescue, take care of them, socialize them and promote their adoptions. Cats are available for adoption through Furry Tales Rescue.
Furry Tales is a foster based agency located in Smiths Falls Ontario (charitable status registration number 791529910RR0001). It's primary goal is to assist cats who have been displaced, abandoned or at high risk of being euthanized in the Quebec pound system - an antiquated system that sees 75% of all cats intake euthanized within 2 weeks of arrival. They rely on donations and fundraisers to ensure each cat brought into care is vet treated and brought to maximum health prior to adoption. The adoption fees do not cover the total cost of vetting for each cat brought through the rescue.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the Feline Cafe is facing a closure of an indefinite length, mandated by the province. During this time, the cafe still incurs significant costs of operating including rent, utilities, feeding and caring for the cats.
Here's where we need your help.
Two weeks worth of supplies, cat care, staff and upkeep costs are approximately $3,000. If we manage to fund raise this amount, this would help us tremendously to cover our expenses in order to stay afloat. The more we raise, the longer we can survive during the mandated closure.
In addition, if we reach our goal of $3,000, we want to give back to our community for helping us. We will deliver gift cards and coffee gift baskets to the coronavirus testing center/health care/hospital workers who are working around the clock to keep our community safe.
We thank you for opening your hearts to us in this difficult time. We hope to see you soon for coffee and cats, once this is all over.
