HELP THE FAMILY OF TINO SANTIAGO
You read about ICE arrests of undocumented people in this country, you think that’s too bad, and you go on to the next article. But, when it happens to someone you know, it is eye-opening. It hits hard, as it did when Tino Santiago was arrested by ICE in Kent, CT 15 months ago (February 26, 2019).
Tino is still incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail in Greenfield, MA – 2 ½ hours from Kent. For the second time in two years, Tino has missed Father’s Day with his family. His sons deeply miss him and the eight-year-old asks, “When will Papa be home?” His ongoing detention and threatened deportation have left his wife, Norma, and three American-born sons in a constant state of crisis, both financial and emotional.
Norma and the three boys struggle on. The children have been deeply impacted by this forced separation.
We, the undersigned, are a team of eight people, committed to assist Tino in his quest for freedom, and to support his family in any way we can. We are called Team Tino, but we have morphed into Team Norma, as well. We are trying to raise money to help Norma keep her house. Tino’s legal team is hard at work to obtain his release.
Urgency and love for this special family compel us to make this appeal to you. Please consider a generous and time sensitive gift; we appreciate any amount you can afford. Multiple gifts of $200, $500, and more will help the family stay in their home. Our goal is $20,000. Please forward this link to anyone who might be interested and concerned.
We look forward to the day when we can write and tell you that all is well, and the real time nightmare is over. Be well. Be safe.

Respectfully yours,
Team Tino: Bill Bachrach, Ginni Block, The Rev. John Carter (Vecinos Seguros), Irene Coe, The Rev. Melinda Keck, Leslie Lillien Levy, Alex Villamil (Action Together CT)
Advisor: Glenn Formica, attorney-at-law, Tino’s pro bono lawyer
