Help the Family of Mike Riddle

Hi, my name is Judy O'Connell and I am a neighbor and friend of Michael Riddle and his family for the past 48 years. As many know, Mike passed away on September 26, 2021. Mike fought a courageous battle with various health issues over the past year and most recently suffered a catastrophic stroke which led to him being hospitalized at Lahey Clinic in Burlington for an extended period of time. During his hospital stay, Mike unfortunately suffered a major setback and contracted COVID-19 during that time. The compilation of his health issues ultimately resulted in his untimely death. As some know, Mike has been self-employed and as a result of prior health issues over recent years and the information I just shared, Mike has not been able to work consistently for quite some time. Therefore, between his inability to work and limited income, his family has had to try and rally behind his situation to help take care of him as best they could and now need to try and settle his affairs with very limited financial resources. Between his medical expenses, funeral expenses and his estate needs there is a financial shortfall.

 

As a close family friend, I became of aware of their financial difficulties and certainly wanted to help as the Riddle/Fielding families have helped others over the years with a helping hand, a meal or a financial contribution when times were good. Mike's wife, Dotty, was well known in Wilmington for years and she was always there for anyone who needed her including her family. As many know, Dotty passed away over 20 years ago at such a young age and Mike had to carry on and continue to be there for his family which he did. Their daughter Gretchen and her husband Peter have been there every step of the way while having some of their own life challenges as well. They are a proud family and would be the first to lend a hand while never asking for one in return. Therefore, I wanted to try and assist them with setting up this page for anyone who wishes to offer any assistance to them at this time. A contribution of any denomination is so appreciated and I thank you on their behalf for your generosity.
