Helping Wife and Sons of Col. Vasyl Pichnenko

On June 6th, 2022, Ukrainian Army Col. Vasyl Pichnenko was killed while leading his battalion, fighting against Russian forces in the Donbas region.

Vasyl served with NATO Allied Land Command's Military Cooperation Branch from 2017 to 2020, and members of the team have set up this GoFundMe campaign in order to assist the family he left behind: his wife, Mariia, and his two sons, Ivan and Mykhail.

Mariia, Ivan, and Mykhail live in Irpin city outside of Kyiv in Ukraine. The city is badly damaged, and their standard of living has suffered greatly since losing Vasyl.

The campaign lead, Tino, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Bundeswehr, knew Vasyl like a brother after they served together at LANDCOM for three years. Before Vasyl returned to the front lines of the War in Ukraine, he asked Tino to look after his family if something happened to him. This is Tino's way of fulfilling that promise.
