I'm Connie Douglass. I've known Judith Laguerre Mesidor and her twin sister, Julie Laguerre Jules since they were 17 years old and moved to Bloomington, IL. Julie lived with my family and we loved being with Judith as much as possible. My family's story has intertwined with Julie and Judith ever since.

At the end of 2023, at age 40, Judith was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive form of breast cancer. She persevered through chemotherapy, but the cancer was too aggressive. She lost the battle this morning, December 27, 2024. Surviving her are her husband of 8 years, Val, and their three children Matty (7), Ryelle (5), and Gabe (2). Also, her mother, Prisca, her older brother Patrick, and twin sister, Julie.

The funds I'm trying to raise will go for several things. Being aware of how seriously sick Judith was, her siblings gathered to be with her starting on Dec 16. This entailed flight costs, housing expenses, lost wages, and food and gas expenses. These needs will continue until Judith is laid to rest (no arrangements have been solidified yet). Going forward, there will be funeral, burial/cremation costs, etc.

Along with your prayers for the family, I pray you will help them financially. Julie will be the point person for the family. All donations will go directly to her bank account.

This past year has been heartbreaking for me and so many others who loved Judith. I'm glad she no longer has to fight--she is at peace in heaven. I want to honor her by helping her family make it through this terrible loss. Please consider donating. Thank you.
