Help with Caitlin's Femoral Neuropathy recovery

Hi everyone. For those that don't know, on August 23rd, 2023 I (Caitlin) gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately, there were some major complications and after the birth I was unable to walk at all when trying to stand up. After multiple CT scans and a neurological assessment in the hospital, I was diagnosed with Femoral Nerve Damage. Studies say that rates of neurologic injury from childbirth is around 1%. After 3 days in a wheelchair at the hospital, we were eventually discharged with a walker and sent home. Though the walker helps, I can not walk for longer than a couple of minutes with the walker without my knees buckling, have had many falls, and am unable to do regular tasks of caring for a newborn and dog at home without support. Unfortunately we also have no family in town to help out.

Spencer, (my husband) is set to return to work next week as his paid vacation is up, and if we can't find private in-home care he will need to take additional unpaid time off to help with caring for the newborn and dog until I can walk again. Recovery can range anywhere from 3-12 months, though we are praying I can walk again sooner than this time frame.

With both of us off work, the mortgage and additional bills will not be able to be paid in full, so we are reaching out to ask for any help that we can get until I can walk again on my own and carry my baby. Just one month of bills is $6000 + additional expenses not covered under insurance like the walker rental, etc. Anything helps, even just sharing this fundraiser to your social platforms!
