Help the Eubanks Through Grant's Second Open-Heart Surgery

Donation protected
Hi, everyone! Thank you for taking a minute to check out my GoFundMe for a very sweet family: the Eubanks.

Last year, Grant's health began to decline rapidly. It was very noticeable and we were all very concerned. After many tests, in August of 2024 the St. John Main ER finally discovered what his Doctor and 4 Specialists were unable to; Grant had an infection on his aortic heart valve that had also progressed to his mitral valve.

By the time the hospital figured that out, they said he only had a couple of weeks to live unless he had an open heart surgery to remove the infection and replace the infected valves, due to how long he had the infection and how far his health had deteriorated from it.

It was a miracle that Grant survived that surgery; the odds weren't promising. He was in the hospital for 3 weeks, and then in patient rehabilitation to treat the infection and gain strength back from losing so much weight.

Due to the infection and surgery, he went into heart failure and had to wear a monitoring LifeVest in case his heart went into a rhythm that could kill him with his heart being so weak.

After 3 months, he had an ECHO to see if his heart had strengthened; it had! It went back to a normal function range with medication, so he no longer had to wear the LifeVest. However...

They found out he had a leak in his heart. He underwent a procedure to determine the severity of the leak. Unfortunately, the leak is severe enough that his case had to be transferred to St. Louis, MO to a special team that can better treat such a complicated case.

Now he needs to have a second open-heart surgery in April, in St. Louis. Due to the complexity of the surgery, Grant and Kerry were told to expect to stay in the hospital for a month.

Imagine having to be off work for a month, leaving your two kids with other family members, still taking care of bills, having to find a place to stay and food for a month, while being in a hospital in another state. Can you imagine the stress (mental, physical, and financial), on top of the scariness of Grant's surgery?

Grant and Kerry have been so quiet about their hardships, never asking for help or complaining, and staying strong for their kids and each other. It's time for us to step in and help. If you are able to donate to help these wonderful people, I know they would be so, so grateful. They could use financial help with travel, lodging, food, medical bills, maintaining things back home, etc.

Thank you for reading their story, and THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for contributing any amount.
