Help the Etters Rebuild After Fire Loss
Donation protected
Hello,
My parents, Michael and Michele Etter, and my grandfather Bill Etter experienced a house fire on December 3, 2024. The fire originated in the basement and was noticed by my mother when flames started traveling up vents in the floor. Luckily, my grandfather was out of their home already. He suffered a severe decline in health several weeks before and had been trying to rehabilitate in an assisted living facility. My mother escaped without injury and called the fire department from the neighbor’s house. Unfortunately, many of their items were damaged, including numerous family heirlooms that can never be replaced. They do have insurance, but everyone knows how the companies can drag people down in their most desperate moments of their lives. As you can see in the photo, most of the damage was in the dining room, but there is also damage in both bedrooms and the living room. Everything in the home has smoke and water damage, and it’s been heartbreaking to see my parents try to sift through the remnants of their lives.
Originally, my parents were against opening a GoFundMe because they’re usually the ones GIVING the help, not receiving it. But after some time of the initial shock wearing off, Maggie and I were able to make them realize they really do need help, any way they can get it. Any little bit helps them try to rebuild their lives. Please consider donating to this cause. Mike and Michele have given so much to their communities, friends, and families over the years, and they could really use the help.
