Dear friends and family,
While on family adventure vacation in Costa Rica, the Esarco family faced a terrifying medical emergency. John Esarco suffered a massive heart attack and was rushed to a local hospital and subsequent helicopter ride to the capital city for more extensive treatment. Thanks to the quick action of tour guides and some very kind hearted native Costa Ricans, two emergency heart catheterizations were performed to save his life .
John is currently stable but remains in the hospital in Costa Rica. Hopefully soon he will be strong enough to fly back to the United States. Leslie and the boys — Luca (13), Ben (11), and Marcus (11) — remain in Costa Rica for the time being. John's parents have also joined to assist for when the time comes for Leslie and the kids to return to the start of school back home.
When John is finally able to return to the U.S., his journey won’t be over. He will likely require additional heart procedures and ongoing care from a cardiology team as part of his recovery.
In lieu of meal trains or other very thoughtful generous options, those close to the family thought this platform would be the most beneficial option for those concerned and inquiring on how to show their love and support.
Please consider donating to help lighten their load. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference. And if you’re unable to give, sharing this page is another powerful way to support them.
They say "it takes a village". Thank you for being apart of this campaign and for all your prayers and support.
Love and gratitude
