Help The Erickson’s

I posted about this last night and have been thinking and thinking about this and decided to go for it.  What I really want to do is try to raise some money for food and gas gift cards for Mark and his daughter, who live in Portage. Mark is constantly on the road, visiting Cheryl, and Bonnie is alone a lot now that both parents are not at home much.  TBH, neither are big into cooking, and just to have some easy ways to get food during this very difficult time and some extra gas money for all the extra driving I think would help, and if there is extra for other things they need, that doesn’t hurt either. Mark is a very proud man, and rarely ever asks for help at all.  However, sometimes we all need help
and I don’t think it would hurt to ask for him.  Like I said, for better or worse, those are vows that Mark Erickson takes seriously. In May this year his amazing wife Cheryl Erickson suffered a brain aneurysm. He has been by her side through her coma to the long road to recovery she still has in front of her.  Due to Covid, he can’t visit her inside and be by her as he would like, but this doesn’t stop him from standing outside her care facility window, where he goes everyday after his long day of work for the City of Madison...and he stays outside her window until she falls asleep at night, which is sometimes midnight. Then he drives an hour home to do his nightly chores of feeding their animals, just to get up at 5:00 AM and do it all over again.  He was even doing this when she was in Milwaukee, a 2 hour drive from Portage. She is now in Middleton, but it is still far from Portage. No one could get him to take a break, even if we wanted to. Mark, you are amazing. I hope you don’t get upset. I think people would like to help, if even just a little bit.
