Help The Ember Winds Project Get To Texas!
Donation protected
The Ember Winds Project (Valerie Nuzzolo and Heather O'Gara) is going to Texas!
We are so excited that we have been selected to perform at The International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas this July! Our newest commission by composer Eric R. Stewart is a new work for clarinets and electric guitar. Even better, Eric will be joining us to play the guitar part on the piece! Inspired by the composer’s personal musical journey, this piece combines “serious” contemporary composition with progressive rock, blending genres and transcending traditions.
Any donations are appreciated and will help to cover conference fees, travel, and accommodations for us and our composer.
Thank You!
- Heather and Valerie
About Us:
The Ember Winds Project is Valerie Nuzzolo, Heather O’Gara, and all of their clarinets. This duo, born in 2023, aims to spark excitement for new music and innovative performances. Both Heather and Valerie are active professional clarinetists, performing across the NY metro area and internationally. Heather holds graduate degrees from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels; Valerie is Professor of Applied Clarinet at Five Towns College in New York, a D’Addario teaching artist, and holds a D.M.A. from Michigan State University.
The Ember Winds Project commissions brand new pieces written by living composers, expanding the repertoire for the clarinet duo. Our premiere of Emmanuel Berrido's “TriCycle Bicycle” for two clarinets and electronics was selected for performance at The International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest 2024 in Dublin, Ireland.
Upcoming appearances include ClarinetFest 2025 and the College Music Society’s National Conference in Spokane, Washington.
