Support Adam Ellis: Houston Firefighter in Need

I’m fundraising for the Ellis family. Adam, the patriarch of the family, was hospitalized two weeks ago with a giant pancreatic pseudocyst and resulting GI bleed. He had surgery to drain the cyst and insert a stent in his pancreas. He went home for 5-6 days and had to be rushed back to the hospital Thursday night because he was vomiting blood. He has been sedated and intubated in the ICU since Friday, and has undergone a number of procedures to try to locate the source of his internal bleeding. He has had over 15 blood transfusions. He is in surgery as I type this. He had to be opened up because CT scan did not show the source. This means a longer recovery, but hopefully also answers.

Adam is a paramedic and Houston firefighter. He is the sole breadwinner for the family. His wife, Jessica, is a stay-at-home mom and homeschools their three youngest children. She is also my sister. Adam works very hard to provide for his family, often taking extra shifts all over Houston. He is well-loved by the fire department.

The medical bills are mounting, and it’s going to be a while before he is able to return to normalcy. They will use the funds for medical bills and living expenses. Please consider giving what you can to this family that already lost everything to Hurricane Harvey in 2017. More than anything, please pray that the doctors are able to locate the internal bleeding, clear up the infection, and that he is able to heal and be well. His family needs him.
