My name is Stacey Seaman, and I am raising funds for my friends Jennifer and Matthew Elliott.
Jennifer's Story
In September of 2024, Jennifer entered the hospital for 9 days due to a gall bladder attack. After that, things were better for a bit, but then in February of 2025, she got a migraine headache that lasted for 7 weeks. The doctors determined that she had intracranial hypertension, and they did an operation on her brain to insert a shunt to drain spinal fluid.
Since then, she has had the shunt surgically repaired twice. In July of 2025, she got appendicitis and had to have emergency surgery to remove her appendix. Three weeks later, she had emergency surgery to remove her gall bladder. Recently, Jennifer has continued to have issues with headaches and kidney stones. Additionally, she has lupus, which has also flared up.
Since September of 2024, she has been hospitalized 21 times, with 5 surgeries.
As you can imagine, this has taken a terrible toll on Jennifer and her family. She was unable to work for almost a full year. Her husband Matthew works full-time, but he had to take FMLA three times to help support Jennifer and the family. Recently, Jennifer has gone back to work part-time at her job as the co-owner of a party business, but even as recently as last weekend, she was back in the hospital as her health continues to fluctuate.
When she's not sick, in addition to work, Jennifer sings in her church praise band, takes care of her three grandkids who live in the area (with one more on the way!), and reads for pleasure.
The Elliotts are a wonderful family who have had a run of terrible luck. They usually are the first ones to jump in and help and will give you the shirts off their backs.
