Help the Ela Family Rebuild their Home

Please help Sarah, Erik, their son Alex, and dog Dalai, recover and rebuild from their catastrophic loss in the Marshall Fire. They lost everything when the fire completely destroyed their home. The most heartbreaking loss is that of their furbabies Yonder and Fruita. 

 

On December 30th, the Elas were traveling back from a family visit in California when they received word that a massive fire had hit their neighborhood. Like so many in their community, they could not retrieve their two kitties or a single sentimental belonging.

 

While the hardest part is losing that which is irreplaceable, there is also a long road ahead in bringing back the items that are replaceable, including eventually, a new home. The cost to rebuild this many homes, in this area, will be substantial for all the homeowners. The current state of material costs and labor shortages will leave them, like so many others affected by this fire, likely underinsured. The road to recovery will be long and difficult. They are grateful for the organizations that are helping families and the community, and plan to pay it forward to support those organizations and those in need when they are able to.

 

As a close friend, I am organizing this fund so that all contributions will go directly to Erik and Sarah, to help cover the insurance gap and the cost of rebuilding their home and lives.
