Help the Eilertson Family Through Dave's Crisis

Donation protected
On March 10th, we received a message from Mindy that Dave needed prayers. He was in the ICU with spontaneous bleeding due to critical liver and kidney failure. Since that time, Dave has been intubated and kept sedated to let his body rest and heal. Over the past 8 days, there have been ups and downs with Dave’s progress and prognosis.

Dave had a MELD score of 40 on a scale of 6-40 (Model for End-Stage Liver Disease). The score is based on how urgently you will need a liver transplant within the next three months. Unfortunately, this is not an option for Dave.

Dave has been through scans, tests, X-rays, and more meds than he would ever agree to! He has been given blood and lost blood. Given fluids and didn’t give them back, so dialysis was added to the routine. Dave has been sedated and on “sedation vacation” and would respond to questions and commands by squeezing Mindy’s hand or nodding his head. Dave has been intubated with the machine breathing for him, and he has had the machine lowered so he could breathe on his own. Dave has also had scopes done from every angle. I am sure he would love to know that!

Bring on today, Monday the 17th. The day started out good but didn’t stay that way. Dave has had to have more blood tonight because of bleeding and the Drs are not sure of the source. This is the worst his numbers have been since this nightmare started. Late this afternoon he doctors told Mindy she should get the kids and family members there sooner than later and they were all able to spend some time together.

We are all praying hard for the miracle that we know only God can provide. We also understand because of our faith, if this is Dave’s time, God will see us through the pain and sadness and remind us of the love and joy brought to us from Dave. We will not give up and hope you can all join us in praying like crazy!

All that being said, other than to sleep, Mindy hasn’t left Dave’s side. The expenses at home are piling up as are the medical bills and there hasn't been and won’t be any income for a while. Anything you can do to help the Eilertson family at this time is greatly appreciated.
