On June 22, 2026, following one of Edmonton's wettest Junes in more than 60 years, the North Saskatchewan River rose with incredible force. Our dock—the heart of the Edmonton Rowing Club—was torn from its moorings and carried more than 140 kilometres downstream by the floodwaters.
While we're incredibly grateful that no one was injured, the loss of our dock has had a devastating impact on our club.
For generations, the Edmonton Rowing Club has introduced thousands of Edmontonians to rowing. We are home to recreational rowers, high-performance athletes, juniors, masters, university crews, learn-to-row participants, and community programs.
Now we need your help.
Your donation will go toward:
Recovering and assessing the damaged dock.
Rebuilding and repairing essential infrastructure.
Replacing damaged equipment and improving our dock system to better withstand future high-water events.
Ensuring our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and community can get back on the water safely.
This is more than rebuilding what was lost. It's an opportunity to build a stronger, more resilient future for rowing in Edmonton.
Please note: Donations to GoFund me are not able to be claimed on your taxes. If you would like to make a larger donation and receive a tax receipt please reach out to info at edmontonrowing.ca. for more information.
