Hi everyone! My name is Ashley and I’m here to ask my community or anyone that would like to help, help us start our business for our family, and create a future for our children. First, I would like to tell you a little bit about us and why it would make a change in our life. My fiancée and I have been together since we were teenagers, so for about 15/16 years now. We had our first child (our son) in 2013, who is now 12 years old. Since the day we got together, it has been just us and only us. After our son was born, it was tough being first-time parents and not having the biggest support net. My fiancée worked at Firehouse Subs, being his first job, and I had my aunt who helped us get everything we needed for our first child. She was the biggest blessing in our life.

As years went by, he stayed in the restaurant industry but then decided to try something different, which was doing pools, being a pool technician. He started working for Pinch A Penny and started learning how to clean pools, manage them, learn about how to keep chemicals at a certain level, and how to use the Hammerhead (the vacuum). It was hands-on for him, and as soon as he started learning, it became natural for him, like something he loved to do. Throughout the years, he’s worked at many different pool companies. He’s run many businesses for many different people. Owners even let him drive their personal vehicles if one of the work trucks needed to be worked on. That’s how much trust he would build with the owners. He would watch them go on vacations, he would manage the pools for them, and a lot of times they would let him take the work truck home.

It just came to a point where back in 2018, my fiancée decided to start his own LLC. Not knowing a clue of what to do or how to do it, we came up with a name, a logo, ordered business cards, shirts, office supplies with his logo on them, and paid for the LLC. We had no idea how to even start the process to start the business up. We talked to a banker at the bank we had at the time, and he informed us that it was going to be a process to be able to get funded to start the business up. First, we needed to generate some revenue and show proof of money flow, and all the other things that came with it in order to get approved for a loan. Well, being that we lived paycheck to paycheck, it was very hard to just stop working and try to focus on building clientele and not having the equipment or chemicals. It was impossible to do all that and not have any income coming in to pay our rent and bills. So, a dream ended up becoming something we thought was just not possible unless we had the right credit scores or co-signers to help us get a loan to start the business.

In 2022 we had our beautiful baby girl and from then it was when we really started thinking about the future. As we watch daddy work so hard every day, he has so much potential to just do this on his own and make the money he deserves. He wants to just work for himself and not have to worry about trying to make someone else happy or make sure someone else’s business is doing good when he can do all that himself. All we have ever wanted was to create a future for our children and have a family business that can be passed down to our children, and then their children, and so on. We see it all the time. So many businesses get passed down to other family members, and that’s all we want for our children as well. We want to finally live stress-free knowing we are the ones in control, we are the ones in charge. We control how much money we make. And that’s just something we have never been able to do.
