Help Support the Drobotiuk Family After a Tragic Work Accident

My name is Steven, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help for a wonderful family in need — the Drobotiuk family, refugees from the war in Ukraine.

Last year, the Drobotiuks arrived in the United States legally on refugee visas after their hometown in Ukraine came under heavy Russian bombing and drone attacks. They came here seeking safety and a chance to rebuild their lives.

The family includes Ruslan, his wife, and their two young boys, ages 12 and 5. As soon as they arrived, Ruslan began working full-time in the construction industry, determined to support his family and build a future in their new home. Despite speaking limited English, he worked long, hard hours with a positive spirit and incredible perseverance.

Unfortunately, tragedy struck last week. While working on a job site, Ruslan fell from a ladder, suffering severe head and chest injuries. Debris from the fall pierced his lungs, causing a life-threatening hemopneumothorax. He underwent emergency surgery, and though his life was saved, his recovery will be long and difficult.

To make matters worse, Ruslan’s employer did not carry workers’ compensation insurance, leaving the family without any financial safety net. With Ruslan unable to return to work for the foreseeable future, the Drobotiuk family now faces the terrifying prospect of eviction from their home.

I am asking for donations to help this kind and hardworking family cover rent and basic living expenses while Ruslan heals. Every contribution — no matter how small — will go directly to helping them stay in their home, keep food on the table, and focus on recovery and stability.

The Drobotiuks have already endured so much loss and hardship. Let’s show them that their courage and determination have not gone unnoticed — that in this country they are not alone.
